More chocolate is bought at Brussels Airport than anywhere else

Europe – the continent known for its picturesque landscapes, rich history, and delicious cuisine. But did you know that Europe is also home to some of the strangest and most fascinating facts on the planet?

For starters, did you know that Europe is home to the oldest tree in the world? The Bosnian pine tree is over 1,400 years old and can be found in the country of Bosnia and Herzegovina. But that’s not all – Europe is also home to the world’s smallest country, Vatican City. With a population of just 800 people and a size of only 44 hectares, this tiny nation is the spiritual home of Catholics around the globe. But perhaps the most impressive fact about Europe is the continent’s love for cheese. In France alone, there are over 1,000 varieties of cheese, with the country producing an impressive 2.3 million tons of the stuff each year.
