Asia

45 billion pairs of chopsticks are produced in China every year

Welcome to Asia, the largest continent on Earth and home to over 4 billion people, which is approximately half of the world’s population! If that doesn’t impress you, then maybe these other interesting facts about Asia will:

  • Did you know that the world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest, is located in Asia? It stands at a whopping 29,029 feet tall! In Japan, you can find the world’s largest fish market, Tsukiji Market, where over 2,000 tons of seafood are sold every day. Asia is also home to the world’s longest wall, the Great Wall of China, which stretches over 13,000 miles. It would take you approximately 18 months to walk the entire thing! If you’re a cat lover, then you’ll definitely want to visit Turkey, where it is believed that if a cat brings you a gift (such as a mouse), it means that the cat is trying to marry you. And last but not least, if you’re feeling brave, you can participate in the Boryeong Mud Festival in South Korea, where people cover themselves in mud and participate in various mud-filled activities.

There’s no denying that Asia is a truly interesting and impressive continent with a rich history and culture. From towering mountains to chaotic fish markets and everything in between, there’s something for everyone in Asia. So, if you’re looking for an adventure, this is definitely the place to be!
